Invite + Challenge 3
Freedom is always an attractive invitation. No one turns down an invitation to more freedom, right? Maybe answering this question will help: Are you more inclined to define freedom by the addition or subtraction of constraints? The removal of constraints, of course!
Jesus loved the topic of freedom—probably because he made us to be free. But according to Jesus (John 8), true freedom is a result of adding the right constraints to our lives. As improbable as this feels, Jesus promises that his way of life leads to truth, and truth never leads to bondage.
