Invite + Challenge Introduction
Many Christians understand that the call of Christianity is to become like Christ. But that can feel like an unattainable goal! As with many challenges in life, we tend to manage them by categorizing them as either something too difficult for most people or unnecessary for most people. The life of Jesus in the New Testament shows us that both categories are untrue.
The mission and rhythm of Jesus’ life prioritized making disciples – pointing people to the hope of the gospel in all areas of life. This is also the invitation of Christianity. Jesus calls us to follow him and be like him by pointing to the hope of the gospel. Jesus lived a life that invited people into a relationship with him and challenged them to become more like him. This is the call on our lives as well.
