The Design of Marriage
When the Bible speaks about marriage, it uses a wide range of illustrations and stories from a human context to explain how God has designed marriage to work. But more than being designed by God, marriage looks like God. In Ephesians 5, the apostle Paul says that marriage is “a profound mystery,” but he also solves the mystery of marriage by saying that it is designed to point to “Christ and the church.”
Biblical marriage is designed for much more than just the people who get married. Marriage is an earthly, relational example of the sacrificial love of God’s gospel.
Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on marriage and see how the covenant of marriage not only strengthens the relationship but also reflects the Designer of marriage.
