Why was it necessary for Christ, the Redeemer, to die?

When we think about God there is a reliable principle: The bigger the better. We can’t make God too big, too loving, too wonderful, or too beautiful. We will never run the risk of thinking too big but, without being moored to scripture, we do run the risk of losing intimacy of God.

This week’s question explores the real and relevant question, why did Jesus need to die? Among the massive theological answers that have been discussed for the past 2,000 years, there is none larger than the fact that Jesus died and defeated death to be our friend.
