Palm Sunday
Tim Armitage   -

If you were asked to write out a one-sentence definition of love, what would you write? It sounds simple. We all know what love means, don’t we? It turns out that love is difficult to quantify. We often use the word “love” to describe something we receive but when we consider the life and actions of Jesus, we see that love has much more to do with community, giving, and sacrifice than individual satisfaction.

This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday. The arrival and worship of Jesus into Jerusalem. It is a coronation of sorts. Jesus is welcomed as king. Hope is placed on his shoulders. But then all seems to go wrong. One day Jesus is lauded as Lord and the next day he is vilified and crucified. All of this sets the standard for love, and it is not the way we would define love at all.

Join us this Sunday as we continue The Letters of John and discover the love we are made to receive and give.
