Sabbath Rest
Tim Armitage   -

After a long work week, we all look forward to a nice restful weekend. After all, God himself rested on the seventh day of creation, shouldn’t I be doing the same?

The beginning of Genesis 2 tells us that after six days of ordering our universe and giving it purpose and productivity, God ceased his activity and rested. The Bible calls this Sabbath. But God does not need rest, so what is he doing? If we have any hope of being obedient in our sabbath rest, we need to know how he is spending his. This Sunday we see just how and why God created the Sabbath for his people.
