The Book of James 3:1-18
May 10, 2026

In James 3, we’re reminded that our words are never “small”—they shape lives, relationships, and the spiritual health of a church family. James and Jesus both teach that speech flows from the heart: careless words will be accounted for, lies and harshness erode trust, and truth without love (or love without truth) becomes destructive. But encouraging words have the power of restoration and love.
The call of James 3 is to let the gospel of grace transform what we treasure so that our communication becomes truthful, loving, and peace-making—wisdom “from above” that is pure, gentle, sincere, and full of mercy.
Join us this Sunday as we see the power and purpose God gives to our words.
